| Charak inaugurates two roads, two toilets at Patti | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 22 Minister for R&B Gulchain Singh Charak today inaugurated two link roads and two toilets at Patti in Vijaypur Zone about 30 kilometre away from here today. The roads and toilets have been constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 34.75 lakh by R&B department. Chief Engineer R&B M. M. Sharma, Additional District Development Commissioner, Samba Rishi Kumar Gupta, Superintending Engineer R&B Tagseen Mustafa and other senior engineers of R&B and RDD departments accompanied the Minister. Addressing the gathering, Charak said that the present government led by Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad is committed to connect 500 population villages with town and city. For this purpose, the Centre has been providing sufficient funds for road connectivity for the benefit of general masses. He asked the engineers to utilize funds judiciously and complete development works speedily in stipulated time frame. He said that no compromise on quality of material. He said that during the period of previous governments, most of the areas of the state were neglected in development particularly remote and far-flung areas and in 22 months of coalition government, unprecedented development has been made in every sector. He said that the present government is making concerted efforts to provide all basic amenities to the people of the state by providing road connectivity, healthcare, schools, colleges, universities, electricity and drinking water facilities. To connect every nook and corner of the state with town and city, the Centre has set up a separate PMGSY department for speedy construction of roads. Regarding implementation of NREGA, he asked the RDD authorities to allot the small petty works to those labourers who are registered under the scheme. Responding to the demands of the people, the Minister asked the R&B authorities to immediately start the construction works of Government High School Boys Patti’s compound wall, improvement and maintenance of Mangal link road. Later, the Minister also inspected the construction work of 1.55 meter long vented causeway at Bandrali in Bisnah. The vented causeway would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 1.83 crore by R&B department.
