| Schedule for summary revision of Electoral Rolls issued | | | Early Times Reporter

The Election Commission of India has ordered Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls for all Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies except 87-Ponch Haveli Assembly Segment. The commission has fixed 01.01.2008 as qualifying date for all the Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies of the state while for 87-Poonch Haveli Assembly Segment 01.10.2007 has been specified as qualifying date.
All the persons who have attained the age of 18 years on or before 1st January 2008 are eligible to apply for inclusion of their names in the electoral rolls. In case of 87-Poonch Haveli Assembly constituency the persons who complete or have completed the age of 18 years as on 01.10.2007 shall only be eligible to register theelves with concerned Electoral Registration Officer/Assistant Electoral Registration Officer/Booth Level Officers.
Any persons whose name or other particulars have not been correctly recorded in the existing rolls can also apply for correction of the same. Application shall also be received for deletion of expired persons and those who have shifted from their original places of residence.
For Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies for whom 01.01.2008 has been fixed as qualifying date, draft publication of the rolls has been fixed 01.11.2007 and period of filing clai and objections from 01.11.2007 to 30.11.2007. Clai and objections will be disposed off on 15.12.2007 and preparation and printing of supplements of additions, deletions and corrections on 15.01.2008 while final publication of the rolls on 21.01.2008 .
For 87-Poonch Haveli Assembly constituency draft publication of the rolls has been fixed on 01.10.2007 and period of filing clai and objections from 01.10.2007 to 18.10.2007. Clai and objections will be disposed off on 25.10.2007 and preparation and printing of supplements of additions, deletions and corrections on 03.11.2007 while final publication of the rolls on 06.11.2007.
