Lal Singh chairs DRDA meet at Doda
Approves Action Plan for year 2007-2008

Member Parliament, Ch. Lal Singh who is also chairman of governing body of District Rural Development Agency, Doda has called upon the district and other functionaries to adhere the guidelines strictly while implementing the centrally sponsored public welfare schemes in their jurisdictions and also ensure that the targeted beneficiaries are covered within stipulated time frame of the scheme so as to alleviate the sufferings of the poor and marginalized sections of the people of the district which is still under developed part of the J&K state.
He was addressing the first ever meeting of the governing body of Doda district Rural Development Agency at Doda today which was held to review the last year performance under SGSY besides approving action plan of the agency under SGSY and DRDA administration of the district Doda.
While giving resume of physical and financial achievements of the year 2006-2007, District Development Commissioner, Doda, Mr Saurabh Bhagat disclosed that an amount of Rs 88.80 lakh allocation was made last year out of which Rs 87.93 lakh made available with an expenditure of Rs 52.11 lakh. Similarly, under SGSY plan allocation was of Rs 149.67 lakh with Rs 141.39 lakh availability and expenditure incurring to the tune of Rs 107.00 lakh in the district.
The meeting was informed that as many as 704 swarozgaries with 195 Self- Help Groups comprising 138 members were provided subsidy to the tune of Rs 60.88 lakh. Likewise under infrastructure development plan 17 different works taken up during the year with completion of 12 works and 5 are at nearly completion soon.
For the year 2007-2008, the DRDA allocation has been proposed to the order of Rs 107.42 lakh on administration component and Rs 110.93 lakh on SGSY allocation, which shall be shared by the state and center fund sharing at 75.25 ratios. So far under administration Rs 42.75 were made available out of which an amount of Rs 20.51 lakh have been spent by the end of August 2007. Under SGSY scheme an amount of 55.74 lakh have made available and out of which an amount of Rs 4.77 lakh spent during the period of the year 2007-2008.
Among others, the meeting was attended by MLA, Inderwal, G.M Saroori, Additional DC and Project Director, DRDA, Mr Farooq Khan, PO, DRDA, Doda, district officers of various departments were also present
