The 1st Indian Academy of Pediatrics Post graduate Pediatric quiz, divisional round was held in the auditorium of SMGS Hospital. The quiz was organized by Post-graduates department of Pediatrics and IAP J&K state branch amongst winners of Intra Collegiate round of Post graduates of various Medical Colleges. Dr. Ashok K Gupta, Prof. and Head department of Pediatrics was the Divisional Quiz coordinator.
Dr. Rajinder Singh, Principal and Dean Govt. Medical College were the Chief Guest and Maj. General (Retd.) M.L. Magotra presided over and Prof. D.B. Sharma and Dr. R.K. Goel Ex. Director and Prof. Sanjay Gupta were the Guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Ashok K Gupta said that it was a matter of honour that deptt. of Pediatrics Govt. College, Jammu was selected for the divisional round. Indian Academy of Pediatrics since its inception about 50 years back is striving hard in the education and care of the children. Though undergraduates IAP quiz is being organized last 20 years but from this year PG quiz in Pediatrics has been also started. The purpose behind is to increase knowledge and enhance commitment in the management of children.
Dr. Rajinder Singh appreciated efforts of department of Pediatrics and IAP. He congratulates the winning team of Dr. Neeraj Gupta and Dr. Yasir Wani. The winners shall participate in the zonal round shall be held in Jan. 2008 during the annual conference of IAP Pedicon 2008 at Bhubneshwar.
The quiz was attended by various faculty members of Medical College, Pediatrics from J&K health services, Residents Postgraduates and undergraduates. Dr. G.S. Saini was the quiz master. The proceedings were coordinated by Dr. Sanjeev Dingra and vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Ravi Bharti.
