| 17 school children fall ill due to food poisoning | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 22 Seventeen school children fell ill due to food poisoning after they had taken the sweets distributed among them at SPM Rajput School on the eve of celebrations of 112th Birth Anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh. The students who got ill belonged to SPM Rajput School, Nehru Model School, RN Pura, Gujjar Nagar and St. Peter School and had gone to SPM Rajput School to participate in the birth anniversary celebrations. According to the parents, their children started vomiting at midnight and they took them to SMGS hospital in critical condition where doctors started treatment. Whereas Medical Superintendent of SMGS hospital Dr. Yash Pal Sharma said that when these two children came after the problem of dehydration he alerted the medical staff and arranged a ward for these ailing children. He told that they received seventeen children who had fallen ill due to food poisoning of these three were discharged today morning. The ailing students who have been identified as Saqib son of Kabir Ahmed, Mehrish son of Kabir Ahmed, Shriram son of Rakesh Kumar, Sanam son of raju Ram, Kartik son of Raju Ram, Priya daughter of Rakesh Kumar, Tabussam daughter of Mohd Aslam, Fiza dayghter of Mohd Salim, Philips son of Walter, Sahil son of Zanir, Prinkle son of Walter, Rimjhim daughter of Rajinder Singh, Muskan daughter of Mintoo, Tanu daughter of Sanjeev. On hearing the news, Chairman of Public Health and Sanitation Sanjay Mahey along with councilors Narsingh Dass, Surinder Singh Shingari, Dinesh Gupta and Balwant Kumar (Ballu) rushed to the hospital to enquire about the health of the ailing children.
