| Reasi deputation calls on Health Minister | | | Early Times Reporter

A deputation led by Pt Thakur Dass Bali, Sanjay Singh and Girdhari Lal from the newly created Reasi district today called on Minister for Health and Medical Education Mangat Ram Sharma and apprised that cultivators in possession of 150 kanals of state land have agreed in principal to give the land to the Health Department for construction of District Hospital. The land is situated at village Aghar Ballian opposite Government Degree College, Reasi.
Assuring the deputationist to provide best medicare to the people of the region, Mr Sharma informed that affidavits from all the land occupants have been obtained by the DDC Reasi Mr Sanjeev Verma and Director Health Services Dr Jasbir Singh and a 200 bedded district hospital will be constructed over the said land shortly after completion of codal formalities. Simultaneously, he assured that all the Chief Medical Officers will be posted in the newly carved district so as to address the problem of shortage of doctors and para-medical staff in the far-flung areas.
Rural Development Minister and local MLA Mr Jugal Kishore showing personal interest in the matter have earlier pleaded for the speedy construction of District Hospital so that people of this hilly district would not have to travel to Udhampur for treatment and latest medicare is provided to them at their doorsteps.
The 200 bedded district hospital at Reasi will be equipped with all the latest and modern facilities.
