The officer bearers of state Samajwadi Party, under the chairmanship of party president, Sheikh Abdul Rehman Ex MP held a meeting to discuss the political scenario in the state and passed the following resolutions.
While inaugurating rural employment guarantee scheme in kour block of District Jammu, the Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad along with Mangat Ram Sharma, Hon’ble Minister, speaker, Tara Chand, Member parliament, Madan Lal Sharma, using government machinery, official man-power, vehicles etc. openly appealed the people to strengthen Congress Party and make it victorious in coming Assembly elections. The Samajwadi Party, taking serious note of this misuse of Govt. Men and Machinery for strengthening Congress Party, at the expenses of state Exchequer, appeals the Governor to take note this illegal, unethical and un-democratic practice and take effective steps to stop the misuse of Government machinery and Govt. functions, which are organized simply to strengthen the ruling party.
As regards Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, the resolution said that in the home District Doda of Chief Minister, in general and Home Block Gandoh, in particular, the scheme has become the centre of corrupt practices leading to a scandalous situation. For example, the entries in the job cards are shown exaggerated and payment is made less; contrary to the norms , no payment has been made to the un-employees, who have not been provided jobs, despite possessing job cards and as against prevalent wages of Rs. 100/- per day, only Rs. 70/- is being provided in these hard days of soaring prices and as per guide lines, the payment to the unemployeds has to be made on daily or alternate days, but in most of the cases, the payment stands delayed to the extent of even six months simply to ensure that the swages cheques are to be delivered by either some Minister or for that matter local M.L.A/M.L.C/ politician to befool the hapless teeming masses to meet their partisan motives and political interest.
