| Youth Cong to start membership drive soon : Wali | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 23 To increase the party base and strengthen its cadre, Youth Congress is going to start the membership drive soon. This was disclosed by Sheikh Mastan Wali, General Secretary, Indian National Youth Congress at a press conference here today. He said that other political parties have already started their membership drives and the YC would be taking up this drive shortly. He said since the Youth Congress has to play a vital and crucial role in the forthcoming Assembly elections in the state for this, we have to increase our cadre base. Congress Party which is one of the oldest party in the country is based on principals where top leaders like Pt. Nehru, Gandhiji, Indira Gandhi, and others have remained the source of inspirations for the youth of this country, he added.. He praised the leadership of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh for introducing various schemes like Bharat Nirman Yojna, Rozgar Yogna, urban and rural development schemes, packages for refugees and retired Army personnel, apart from implementing the Right to Information Act. Mohammed Amin Bhat, MLC and State President, Youth Congress listed the achievements of Congress led Azad Government in the state and added that this government. will bring more schemes for the welfare of the youth in the state. He said the need of the hour was to strengthen the hands of the CM and the Congress for ensuring durable peace and prosperity for the people of the trouble torn state.
