| Gorkha Sudhar Sabha discuss problems, demand OBC status | | | Early Times Reporte
Jammu | Sep23 Various issues pertaining to the Gorkha community including grant of state subject, OBC status, allotment of land, enrolment in belt force apart from grant of reservation to the community members were discussed threadbare at a meeting of the Gorkha Sudhar Sabha Jammu held at Nai Basti under the chairmanship of Vijay Kumar Bohora.
The meeting urged the government to concede the demands of the community at the earliest to enable them to take the benefits available to other community living in the state.
On this occasion the Sabha unanimously elected office bearers and members of the executive committee with Kuldeep Chhetri as its President, Shanker Singh and Achhi Devi as vice presidents, Hari Singh Gurung General Secretary and Amar Jang as Joint Secretary.
The meeting also authorized the newly elected President to frame the executive body, working committee . The newly elected president constituted a financial board to analyze, sanction expenditures, loans and other grants.
All the newly elected and nominated members took oath to respect Gorkha Sudhar Sabha, its constitution and to work with dedication for upliftment of the community.
