Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 24 Comparing the present team with that of 2003, the Jammu and Kashmir Hockey Association (JKHA) hopes for good results in the 13th Sub-junior national hockey championship to be held at Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh from September 27 to October 6. In the year 2003, J&K boys had qualified the pool and had performed extremely well in the lost quarterfinal match against Pondichery. The young side had not allowed the opponents to score a goal in the match time and lost on way to the semi-finals in extra time. “The game has attracted to a number of young boys from the city and its outskirts in the recent past. The way these youngsters have practiced in the coaching camp, I’m very positive about the results this time,” said PD Singh, resident secretary (Jammu) of JKHA. He further said that the boys from Hiranagar have shown great interest and the contribution of the SOS School, Gole Gujral is also commendable. The school has a hockey field and a full-fledged team to play on. The 18-member team is leaving for Bhopal tomorrow under the guidance of coach, Joginder Singh and manager, Vijay Vaid.
