| Kishtwar gets first ATM | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 25 Seeking to extend its high-tech banking services to all remote areas across the state, J&K Bank inaugurated its first ATM in Kishtwar district of Jammu region. Vice-president, J&K Bank Mr. G M Sahibzada inaugurated the ATM in a simple but impressive function amid large gathering of local people. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Sahibzada said that the Bank is committed to play a vital role for the integrated development of the J&K state. “The Bank has devised the policy under which many more branches would be opened in the far flung areas so that the people in high-terrain areas also avail the high tech services enjoyed by its clientele in metropolitan, urban and sub-urban areas” he said. Qazi Mushtaq and Dr. Brahmdutr Sharma Sr. Citizens congratulated the Bank for its people-friendly initiatives like the recent recruitment drive from remote areas. President Byopar Mandal Mr. Ishtiaq Wazat, who was also present on the occasion, thanked the Bank for opening a separate Zonal Office at Doda to expedite the processing of local cases. Convening a customer meet in Kishtwar, the Vice-president also informed the people about various initiatives the Bank has taken for the betterment of backward areas. He said, “The Bank offers financial support to all the weaker sections of society including artisans, small-tradesmen, students, unemployed youth etc to upgrade their living standards by offering them world class financial and banking services.” He added that the Bank has a liberal policy of extending credits to people of all the segments of economy but the timely recovery of the same is necessary. He also urged people to inculcate the habit of savings among themselves as these form the basis of sound socio-economic condition. Moreover the locals hailed such initiatives and assured full cooperation to all the branches of the Bank opened for their progress and development.
