| Trek on Siachen begins | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 25 The bravest are surely those who have the clearest vision of what is before them, glory and danger alike, and yet not withstanding go out to meet it”. A trekking expedition is as much a discovery of nature as a discovery of one’s self, Himalaya, “Home of the snows” is the most impressive system of mountains on the planet. Ascending the heights in Glacier is an experience beyond comparison. Trekking here is often a mixture of adventure pleasure and self realization. A high altitutde on Siachen Glacier, first of its kind, commenced today at Leh under close supervision of Fire and Fury Corps. Forty two members Siachen Glacier Trek was flagged off by Lieutenant General PC Bhardwaj, AVSM, VrC, SC, VSM, General Officer Commanding, Fire and Fury Corps at Leh. Besides fifteen Army personnel, the expedition team comprises of media persons, civilians, Gentlemen cadets of Indian Military Academy, four cadets each of Rashtriya Indian Military College and Rashtriya Military School, Chail and six National Cadets Corps Cadets of Ladakh. The trek will be completed over a period of twenty days.
