Jammu, August 17:

The revealations made about deployment of three surrendered Hizb militants on security at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s official residence has created ripples in the security net work at national level, while as all the three surrendered militants have been interrogated. It has been learnt that the said militant were recruited in CRPF after surrender and were deployed on security at Prime Minister’s official residence at 7-Race Course Road New Delhi. The issue snowballed into a major controversy, when a head constable Raj Kumar deployed at the main gate, according to National Private TV Channel, found his rifle missing and loged an FIR with Delhi police. In the FIR, Raj Kumar mentioned that three security personnel namely Mansoor Ahmed, Gulzar Ahmed Lone and Mehraj-ud-Din were deployed on duty with him, but one fine day he left home with 9 MM Carbine Rifle, 2 magazines, and 35 rounds packed in his bedding luggage and assigned the responsibility of the security of ammunition to Gulzar Ahmed in presence of his another colleague Mansoor Ahmed. The above named security personnel has mentioned his rifle Bhatt no; 62 and Body No: 8928 in the said FIR. However on his return from home late in the evening, Gulzar told Raj Kumar that his rifle is missing in the evening.
Meanwhile it was learnt that all the three security personnel were deployed on Prime Minister’s security by CRPF and following the missing of carbine rifle CRPF ordered a full scale investigation to probe the matter. During the course of investigation, all the three security personnel were arrested. Following third grade torture in custody, the detained, according to said National TV channel, confessed that they were associated with Hizb-ul-Mujahideen in past . Mansoor Ahmed, according to CRPF interrogation reports, has received 6 months arms training in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK), but surrendered before remaining active with militancy for a very short span of time and was recruited in CRPF in the year 1998. Similarly Gulzar Ahmed also surrendered after his return from Pak Occupied Kashmir (POK) where he received six months arms training. He too was recruited in CRPF in the year 1998. The third person Mehraj-ud-Din was also active in militancy before he surrendered. He was recruited in CRPF in the year 1995.
All the three were deployed on Prime Minister’s security and they were keeping a vigil on the movements of Prime Minister. The said TV Channel claims that they were deployed on Prime Minister’s security despite knowing everything about their past and were transferred after their release. However Raj Kumar was dismissed from service for being found guilty of missing his file. All the three CRPF personnel are presently deployed in North East.
However CRPF Director General J.K.Singh said that all the three security personnel were sent to Delhi police for performing law and order related duty and this was done in line with a routine practice, but they were deployed on Prime Minister’s security without verifying their antecedents which should have been done normally. As CRPF and Delhi pass buck from one quarter to the other, the issue has caused ripples in security network of the country. The said TV Channel also brought to light the copies of FIR and CRPF investigation report.
