| Jammu artists hold demonstration, demand justice | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 26 Producers, directors, writers and artistes of Jammu have strongly condemned the police action against the producers, directors, artistes of Kashmir Valley who were holding a peaceful demonstration in-front of Srinagar Doordarshan Kendra against D.D. Doordarshan Kendra Srinagar/ Prasar Bharati for release of funds / payments of recent works done by them and other genuine demands. Addressing media persons here today Shiv Dutt Convenor Joint Action Committee demands an impartial enquiry against the shameful action of Director Doordarshan Kendra, Srinagar who has been continuously discriminating the producers, directors, writers and artists of Jammu in allocation of programs and referred the recent example of the house programs. He said that Joint Action Committee strongly demands the allocation of funds to Doordarshan Kendra, Jammu for commissioned Programs and said that DDK is handicapped for shortage of funds. He said recently Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting allocated Rs. 300 crores for Software and Hardware for Kashmir Channel. The Action Committee demands immediate release of funds for DD Jammu. He warned that in case our demands are not met within one month we will be compelled to move on roads and take drastic steps like self immolations along with family members.
