| Seminar on ‘Ladakh poetry’ organized | | | Early Times Reporter

The Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, organized a day long seminar on “Ladakh Poetry in the last fifty years” here yesterday. Tsewang Rigzin, Executive Councillor for Art & Culture, LAHDC, has presided over the function. Scholars of Ladakh region were present in the seminar and had a healthy in particulare and Ladakhi Language in general. A special of edition of Sheraza published on the 2550teh Parinirvana of Lord Buddha was released on the occasion. Earlier Sonam Skalzang (Scluptor) winner of Padma Shree award 2006 and Samstan (Writer) winner of State best book award for 2006 were honoured with Khataks. Tsewang Paljor (Cultural Officer) in his welcome address, briefed about the Academy’s activities and their objectives behind organizing such seminars particularly on Language.
While addressing Rigzin, appreciated the officer and staffs of the Academy for their continues affords for preservation and promotion of Ladakhi Culture. He further suggested regarding the preservation and promotion of Ladakhi Language.
