| CHTM, JU celebrates World Tourism Day | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 27 Centre for Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM), University of Jammu today celebrated World Tourism day. An interaction session was organized for MTM Students in which Director (Tourism), Ajay Kahjuria was the chief guest while Deputy Director, Archeological Survey of India (ASI), AK Khanna, Col. AS Shekhawat, Principal, Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports and Director Colleges Meenakshi Kilam were the key resource persons. Ajay Kahjuria in his address said that this year’s theme is very relevant as tourism industry can provide enormous opportunities to women that can also help to uplift the women. He also added that women by virtue of their inherent personality traits like care, compassion, patience can provide excellent service to the visitors. AK Khanna in his impressive presentation emphasized on the potential of heritage tourism in all the three regions of the state. He also suggested that the Mubarak Mandi complex shall be established as the landmark of the state. Dr. Meenakshi Kilam in her address said that today women are emerging as successful leaders. They are contributing and creating successful enterprises across the globe. Director CHTM, Deepak Raj Gupta in his address highlighted the humble contributions made by the centre towards the promotion of tourism education and research.Vote of thanks was presented by Suvidha Khanna. |
