| Roshni benefits blue-eyed only: Khajuria | | | Early Times Reporter

A deputation of residents of Jammu city and adjoining areas led by office bearers of various organizations met the BJP State President Ashok Khajuria at party headquarters and brought into his notice the discrepancies in rate fixing under Roshni Act which is highly exaggerated and arbitrary.
Ashok Khajuria gave a patient hearing to the grievances of these people and expressed his party’s full support for the mitigation of their sufferings. He said the present Congress-led government has enacted Roshni Act for the benefit of blue-eyed persons and politicians only. He said this Act has badly affected the members of scheduled Caste community and our Sikh brothers who migrated from PoK and are living in different parts of Jammu region. Fixing of the regularization charges at high rates is not justified and needs to be reviewed , he demanded and assured the members of the deputation that the BJP will in no way accept the charges fixed by the government for regularization of land.
The members of the deputation included S. Gazan Singh, President State Akali Dal, Sat Pal Khajuria, President Jammu city Residents Welfare Association, D.S. Sharma, N.N. Dogra, Krishan Singh, Nanak Chand, S. Chattur Dev Singh, Preetpal Singh (President Gurdwara Sabha Chatha) and S. Jagjeet Singh (Gen. Secretary, State Akali Dal). |
