| J&K sub-junior footballers fail to qualify pool | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 27 The sub-junior (under-16) boys team of Jammu and Kashmir could not qualify their pool in the 19th sub-junior national football championship played at Haldwani in Uttrakahnd. However, the boys won their opening group match against Assam 2-1 to make a good start. Rahul Sharma scored one goal for the winners J&K. In the subsequent match, J&K fail to open account against formidable Goa and lost the match 0-5, a performance report addressed to the Secretary, J&K State Sports Council and submitted with the Sports Officer (Jammu) disclosed. The 20-member team that returned yesterday from Uttrakhand was comprised of 11 boys from Kashmir and other nine from Jammu. Team was accompanied by Kushey Kumar as coach.
