| Adventure Tourism camp at Sanasar gets underway | | | Early Times Reporter
JAMMU|SEP 28 - J&K Tourism Department in collaboration with Extreme Himalayan Adventure Tourism Agency and Summer Land Travels, organized a 3-day Eco-Adventure Tourism Camp at famous hill resort Sanasar, yesterday to mark the celebrations of World Tourism Day where 32 students of J.P. World School, Jammu, participated.
Scenic spot Sanasar abounded by lush green forests is situated at a distance of 18 KMs from Patnitop, 95 Kms. from Holy town Katra, 60 Kms from Udhampur and 135 KMs from Jammu is connected with road and visitors could reach there by hiring bus, Taxi etc. Five Double -bed Huts of J&K Tourism Development Corporation are also available here where visitors can stay at night if they desire so.
According to the Instructor of Tourism Department, Amar Pal Singh Saini manning the 3-day Adventure Tourism camp, said that this year’s World Tourism Day is being celebrated on the theme of “ Tourism Opens Doors for Women” . The activities of the 3-day event include training to young male and female students in Paragliding joy ride , rock rapling and climbing and 5 Kms trek journey from Sansar to Shantagala.
From October 3, 2007, a seven-day paragliding course is being started by the department at Sanasar where anyone could participate by paying nominal charges, he added.
Reacting to a query of media persons, the Chief Executive Officer of Extreme Himaylan Adventure Tourism Agency, Dr. Naveen Kotwal said that Sansar is second best spot after Solan ( Himachal Pradesh) in North India for conducting Tadndom Para-gliding joy rides.
