Represented by the state champion Jammu Public School, the 16-member team of Jammu and Kashmir shall proceed for New Delhi on September 30 to take part in the Sabroto Mukherjee (under-14) football tournament.
The J&K boys will play their three matches from October 2 onwards in the ongoing tournament. The month-long tournament, organised by School Games Federation of India, is already in progress beginning from September 16.
Representing Jammu Division, the JK Public School team had defeated Biscos School Srinagar to claim the state championship trophy in August.
The team: Ishan Chandel, Puneet Rawal, Janha Raj, Karan Singh, Vikramjeet Singh, Umar Jaan, Aryan Mahajan, Varun Verma, Amarjot Singh, Pavneet Singh, Dilavar Singh, Rishu Mahajan, Rayan Azad, Kartik Dass, Sahil Bhardwaj, Imran Ali Khan and Altmash Din Nisar.
Sponsored by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, the team is accompanied by Elijha Sotra and Rattan Lal Sharma as coach and manager respectively. |
