| Cancellation of JDA allotments flayed | | | Early Times Reporter

BJP Beopar Cell State President Kulbhushan Mohtra has strongly condemned the action of Jammu Development Authority (JDA) where in it forcefully sealed five shops in Gandhi Plaza Complex. He said this action on part of the JDA authorities in not justified as the shopkeepers were not issued any prior notice. He said this is illegal and speaks of the manner in which the JDA behaves with the law abiding citizens.
Kulbhushan Mohtra said that before taking such an extreme step, the JDA should have used other means, including fixing the last date for depositing the pending rent or other dues and publishing the same in local newspapers besides serving individual notices. Without following any legal method, forceful sealing of the shops has raised several questions over the way of functioning of the JDA. The JDA should keep in mind that every shopkeeper is a respectable citizen and such an action has harassed them.
Kulbhushan Mohtra asked the JDA to adopt a friendly approach towards the shopkeepers and desist from taking such decisions which, if repeated, will invite wide-spread resentment and that the BJP Beopar Cell would support the aggrieved shopkeepers. |
