| Chatha residents refute corruption charges | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 29 The inhabitants of Chatha area have strongly refuted the corruption charges leveled by Amrik Singh of Shriomani Akali Dal in the distribution of funds to the people being provided by the SKUAST University. Mohinder Singh a resident addressing media persons described the allegation as baseless and malicious and said these charges have been leveled by the most incredible persons of this area who has always been involved in malpractices. He added that on March 19 last year, the District Gurudwara Parbandhak committee took an extra ordinary meeting convened by its president to take serious note of the malpractices and misappropriation of Gurudwara funds by S. Amrik Singh who was the then Gen secretary and was ousted from GPC and a criminal complaint was also lodged against him.. S. Baldev Singh stated that the member who even not remained honest with the religious institution has no moral and ethical right to speak anything. He added that S. Amrik Singh and his coterie has already taken their due funds and counseled them not to poke nose in the affairs of the others .. S. Mohinder Singh has appealed to the president Shriomani Akali Dal to expel S. Amrik Singh who has no character as he will bring bad name to Shriomani Akali Dal. The inhabitants have strongly appealed the Chief minister to release their due funds as easily as possible and half of the people have already got their dues and there is no reason to neglect the left over section. |
