| Panthers Kissan leader tours interior areas of Distt. Rajouri | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu Sep 30 People living in far flung area of district Rajouri which include Peeri, Sokar, Larkoti, Kurag, Draj, Budhal and Koteharwal villages are facing number problems at the hands of government functionaries said district president of Panthers Kissan Union, Mohd. Farooq Inqalabi at a press meets here today. Farooq said, during his one month tour of these area he found corruption and irregularities in government departments at its peak. He said CA and PD official are overcharging from people and thin only they are given ration etc. He said poor people of these villages are Rs. 12.50 for one liter of K-oil instead of Rs.10.50 fixed by the govt. He said the money sanctioned by the rural development department for the construction of modern village at Kewal, has not been utilized judicially which needs probe. He further said, no attention is being paid to develop Rajnagar Budhal being a important historical place of the district. He also demanded opening of a degree college at Rajnagar, which is a long pending demanded of the people even chief minister during his last visit in December 2006 promised of a college here. Farooq further said, area needs a financial institution, as small business men and farmenrs suffer lot due to non availability of finance at cheap rates. He said attitude of SBI is not satisfactory with people. He urged upon the government to open a branch of J&K bank. He appealed to CM that necessary steps for the development of these areas be taken on war fatting. He also demanded adequate compensation for the farmers whose maize crop has been badly affected. |
