| Education tour for ankur children | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 30 In a colourful ceremony, General Officer Commanding, Uniform Force flagged off an educational tour, a group of 25 children of Ankur, a children home at Reasi, today. The tour will cover historical and other places of interest in Delhi, Agra, Chandigarh and Amritsar. The purpose of the tour is to expose the children to rich and varied cultural heritage of India. Their experience to cultural and religious diversity would enable them to absorb the spirit of the nation. As a part of ongoing Military Civic Action programme, Uniform Force has organized this tour under Operation Sadbhavana. Speaking on the occasion General emphasized on the importance of the tour and the rich cultural heritage of India. During the course of the tour the children will get a life time opportunity to visit Rashtrapati Bhawan, meet His Excellency, the governor of Punjab, Senior Army officers and other Govt officials. The children, some of whom, probably moving out of their districts/state for the first time, will be able to see the fast pace of holistic progress of India. The children will also get a clear picture of multi-religious, multi-cultural and diverse yet united society. These children, the forbearers of future generations will surely draw their own inspirations and work towards bringing about a change in their own society to ensure that Jammu and Kashmir moves along with the rest of the country in all walks of life and moves faster towards an era of peace and prosperity. |
