| Work shop on Akhanda Yoga organized | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 30 The 12th one-day workshop of Akhand Yoga on ‘the secret of true living’ was held today at Brahman Sabha, Parade which was attended by a good number of people from all sections of society. The topic of the workshop was, “Healthy living through Yoga and Ayurveda”. Sunil Vasishth, founder of Akhand Yoga and Cardiologist at Vasishth Ayurveda centre and heart clinic, Jammu, conducted the workshop. Addressing the gathering, Vasishth said, “contrary to the past, life on earth is getting increasingly complex and demanding, with every passing day, year and decade. A constant stream of newer challenges keeps on popping up before the humanity, making it essential to make full use of our latent potentialities. Driven by this growing realization, scientists and doctors across the globe are now out to explore the role the complimentary and alternative systems of medicine, including yoga and ayurveda’ he added. Dr.Vasishth maintained that’ judicious use of techniques and yoga and regimens and therapies of ayurveda have the potential preserve and promote health and to prevent and manage illness without harming body and mind . Urging the participants to adopt living practices, Dr Vasishth said ‘it is high time that all and sundry are benefited from the eternal wisdom of yoga and ayurveda and attain the highest degree of health in order to take best out of life’. Later, the participants were acquainted with various techniques of Akhand Yoga during different sessions held for Oorja, Shakti Kriya and Akhand Samadhi. Earlier, welcoming the participants, Pawanesh Abrol, organizer, laid particular stress on the need to adopt healthy life style as recommended in yoga and ayurveda, while Dr Rashi Abrol, co-organizer, called upon women to pay special attention towards their health and well being. Anuradha Puri presented the vote of thanks and Dr. Brijbala Basishth Patron and Director Vasishth Ayurveda centre presided over the workshop. |
