| 141 birthday of Lal Hansraj being celebrated on Oct 2nd | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 30 To celebrate the 141th birthday of Sher-e-Duggar, Lal Hansraj Mahajan a debate competition was organized by the Mahajan Sabha here today. In the competition students both girls and boys drawn from various school and colleges took part. President of the Sabha, Romesh Chander Gupta describe Lala Hansraj as a man of highercaliber who throughout his life fought for the betterment of poor and dawn trodden people of the society. He said, Lalaji was a great freedom fighter, O and social worker and was always helping the people without any discrimination. He said October 4, 1866, is a very important day in the history of Mahajan Community Gupta said, it was due to his efforts that Mahajan Sabha and Dogra Sabha, came with existence. Gupta further said, that Lalaji worked with full zed to remove all the evils from the society. He fought against the dowery. System, un-touchability, child marriage etc, and added his social service was parmodharam. For this act he was held in high esteem by all section of the society. To celebrate his birthday with great enthusiasm a big function is being organized on October 2 at Mahajan Sabha. In October 14, number of persons are being honoured by the Sabha. Secretary of the Sabha Amarnath Gupta also spoke about the high quality of Lala Ji. |
