| Mirwaiz for grabbing opportunity | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 30 After repeated observations of the outgoing Chief of Army Gen JJ Singh about improvement in the situation, the Hurriyat leaders have already started campaigning for demilitarization The present situation in Jammu and Kashmir gives a good oppurtunity to the Centre for "demilitarisation", Hurriyat Conference chairman Mirwaiz Umer Farooq said today. "The time is appropriate for the Centre to initiate steps which will lead to demilitarisation," the Mirwaiz said addressing a meeting at the historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar. The meeting was organised by Jammu and Kashmir Awami Majlis-e-Amal, an amalgam of religious parties, as part of two day programme chalked out in connection with 40th death anniversary of renowed leader Maulana Mohammad Yousuf Shah. He also reiterated his support to the four-point formula put forth by Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf. |
