| Elders day celebrated | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 1 BIG 92.7 FM celebrated the International Elderly People day at the old age home, Amphalla. The RJ’s played games and sang songs with the elderly people and had a great time with them. The children of Bal Niketan were also invited to be part of this celebration. It was an emotional scene when these kids interacted with elderly people. They also distributed fruits and sweets as a token of love. The elderly people really enjoyed spending time with BIG 92.7FM family, shared their feelings and gave lots of blessings to our big family. Such days should be celebrated as they don’t have much of means for fun and celebration and it is just one of our ways to show that we care. Radio Jockey Rahul Makin said. While in another function ,Retired Officers Forum (ROF), Jammu today celebrated Elder’s Day in collaboration with Bharat Scouts and Guides. An interactive session was also organized of senior citizens and students on the subject “Role of Elders towards youngster and vice-verse” in order to establish better understanding and reduce the generation gap. I D Soni, state commissioner, J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides, Jaipal Singh, senior consultant holistic medicine, Shastri Vidhya Bhanu Jee were the main speaker and resource person while J K Sharma presided over the function. The resource persons on the valuable subject “Role of Elders towards youngster and vice-verse” gave their valuable suggestions besides sharing their experiences related to the issues. The students also gave vent to their feeling and expectations in the changing society and modern outlook. J K Padha, Subedar Charan Dass and S S Jamwal retired senior citizens were honored and presented shawls for their valuable social service and also two gents and one lady from Virdh Ashram, Amphalla were also honored. The students of different schools enthralled the audience with the patriotic songs and skits befitting to the subject.Among those who were present on an occasion included S C Rekhi, general secretary, ROF, S C Anand, J B Puri, V K Bhagotra, H S Sasan, Avtar Singh and others. |
