| Justice JP Singh appointed Addll, Judge HC for another two years | | ‘ Taking oath on Wednesday’ | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 1 President of India, Pratibha Devisingh Partil, has appointed Justice Jai Pal Singh, presently Additional Judge of the State High Court as Additional Judge of J&K High Court for two years with effect from October 4, 2007. Justice JP Singh was elevated as Additional Judge of the J&K High Court on October 4, 2005 for a period of two years. Justice JP Singh, born at Kehli Mandi, Samba did his LL.B in 1971 and was enrolled as pleader on September 15, 1971 and practized as an Advocate in J&K High Court for about 34 years. He was appointed as Additional Central Government Standing Counsel in 1987, Sr. Central Standing Counsel in 1996, appointed as Prosecutor General Vigilance, Standing Counsel GAD for seven years, appointed as arguing counsel on behalf of state Government before being elevated as Additional Judge on October 4, 2005. A Notification issued by the Union Ministry of Law and Justice today said that in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section 1 of Section 100(a) of Constitution of Jammu & Kashmir, the President is pleased to appoint Justice Jai Pal Singh, presently Additional Judge of the J&K High Court, as Additional Judge of the State High Court for further two years with effect from October 4, 2007. It is worthwhile to mention here that Justice JP Singh will take oath as Additional Judge of J&K High Court on October 3. |
