Alleged Auqaf Land embezzlement: JKIM condemns political intervention, demands probe | | | Early Times Report
Poonch, Nov 1: Alleging embezzlement in huge chunk of Aquaf land worth crores, the Jammu and Kashmir Insaaf Movement (JKIM) today demanded a probe in this regard. In a meeting held here today in Poonch, under the supervision of a senior citizen Mohd Azad Chouhan and Chairmanship of Javid Iqbal Reshi the chairman of the movement the participating members deliberated upon issues regarding Auqaf and expressed c9oncerns over alleged embezzlement of land. Speaking on occasion, Javid Reshi said, "College Ground, Air Field, Media Complex, Parade Ground Parking, Yaseen English School and many other places are being used without due rent. He alleged that elected representatives from Poonch had utterly failed to raise this issue and legislators always had the ignored realty. He further said there are more than two hundred shops in Poonch over Waqf Property, who pay only rupees 100/month in waqf treasure. He also said Yaseen English School is paying only rupees 400/m for 33 class rooms, which is cruel joke with the Aquaf administration. He and other speakers alleged that some vested interest politicians have been opposing the Auqaf Act in Poonch as they allegedly have hands in glove with encroachers who have encroached Auqaf property. Reshi said Jahangir Khan as an administrator tried to ameliorate the defunct system of Auqaf management but some vested influential elements opposed his efforts. Speakers appealed to Auqaf minister, Special Auqaf Officer Raj Mohammad and Deputy Commissioner Poonch Muhammad Harun Malik to intervene matter, investigate it, take strong action to save public property and make better their afterlives. |
