Alleging large scale bungling in the selection of Teachers under RBA category in Doda district, the aggrieved students today demanded cancellation of the select list, besides making available the marks of all those selected and rejected candidates under the Right to Information Act. A delegation of the aggrieved candidates further alleged that the highly qualified students have been ignored and instead those having lesser qualifications have been selected by the Board allegedly on money consideration and under political pressure.
A delegation of the aggrieved students led by Sunil Raina today told Early Times that the Board has made mockery of the standing rules and selected those candidates possessing lesser qualification and merit in the Doda district especially in RBA category. The delegation alleged that in RBA category candidates having BA, B Sc /B. Ed qualification have been selected ignoring the candidates with P.G/ B.Ed and M.Sc / M.Ed qualifications.
The delegation further revealed that previously in RBA category 150 candidates were short listed for interview against 30 posts in the ratio of 1:5 but unfortunately within a period of one month, the Board again conducted interview of about 200 candidates to accommodate those having political patronage. Describing it unjustified and uncalled for when the Board had already short listed candidates selected earlier, the delegation said that again to their surprise nearly after five months, SSB again conducted interview of about 186 candidates under RBA category for the same advertised 30 posts and thus the candidates quite below in the list were short listed for interview and consequently selected thus making the ratio of more than 1:10. The marks given by the newly constituted selection committee were quite high as the marks given in viva by the earlier selection committee to those having being short listed earlier were reduced to less than half so as to adjust the influential candidates.
The candidates have urged the CM Ghulam Nabi Azad to look into these allegations and investigate as to why new selection committee was constituted when the earlier committee had already issued a select list and also to see how the committee adopted 1:10 ratio instead of 1:5, more particularly in RBA category.
It is not understood as on what basis the new selection committee rejected the earlier list of short listed candidates and issued a fresh list. Something fishy seems in it, the delegation alleged and demanded a through probe into the matter besides making available the marks given by the earlier selection committee and the new selection under the Right to Information Act to ascertain the factual position.
The delegation demanded strict action against the members of the selection committee as they have indulged in corrupt means in the selection of teachers in RBA category. and should also demanded cancellation of the RBA list.
