| With Hari Om back, BJP begins mobilizing voters | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu|Oct 2 After the estranged vice president,Prof. Hari Om,has started attending work in the BJP headers the party leadership has decided to hold a convention of party workers from the entire province in Jammu on October 24 where the guidelines for preparing for the ensuing Assembly poll will be finalized. Senior party leaders today confirmed that Prof. Hari Om,who had announced his Sanyas from active politics in protest against sidelining him while he was functioning as the party spokesman,had resumed his duties in the office after he was persuaded by Mr Shanta Kumar,a former Himachal Chief Minister and incharge of party affairs in Jammu and Kashmir,to restart his work as the vicepresident and party spokesman.He agreed to do so after he was assured that nobody in the organization will interfere in his work. The Paryty leadership,meanwhile,has assigned the duty of allotting different work to each workers in all the 37 constituencies in the Jammu region.A former BJP President,Dr Nirmal Singh,said today that the party units in each constituency have been galvanized and the exercise on training party workers in mobilizing electorates for supporting the BJP during the next election.Party leaders were also selecting workers who would be appointed as poll agents. He said that the National Minority Morcha would be holding a two-day meeting in Srinagar in the third week of this month for chalking out the party’s programme for mobilizing support for the BJP from the minorities in the state.He said during the next poll the BJP will make a serious attempt at fielding suitable candidates in some constituencies in the Kashmir valley. |
