| Police arrests teacher for beating student | | | Early Times Reporter Poonch | Oct 2 Police today arrested a Rahbar-e-Taleem teacher for allegedly thrashing a second standard student mercilessly in Mendhar area of Poonch district. Sources told News Agency of Kashmir that family members of an eight year old girl Shahida Kousar daughter of Said of Kota Mendhar registered a complaint before the Mendhar police station that the girl was given severe thrashing by the teacher at the school on Monday. The family alleged that the student has been beaten up in most inhuman manner and as a result of which the girl has marks of torture all over her body, sources added. Based on the compliant, a police team from Mendhar police station arrested the ReT, Aijaz Ahmed Mir, form his rented accommodation in the town. It was learnt that the teacher is posted at Girls primary school Kota, Mendhar and the victim is also student in the same school. However, it was learnt that the arrested teacher has now involved some prominent citizens of the town to pursue the family to take back their complaint. Deputy Chief Education Officer Poonch Abdul Hamid Fani told News Agency of Kashmir that strict action under law would be taken against the erring teacher if he is found guilty. |
