| Seven Star `A’ wins by 15 runs | | Satish Sharma memorial U-19 cricket tourney | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 2: Seven Star `A’ defeated Eleven Brothers Cricket Club by 15 runs to sail into the second round of the ongoing Satish Sharma memorial under-19 cricket tournament underway at Parade ground, here today. Batting first after winning the toss, Seven Star set a target of 157 runs after they lost all their wickets in 28.5 overs of the 40 overs match. In reply, Eleven Brothers Club could not chase the total and the whole side bowled out for 141 runs in 29 overs. Deepu was top scorer with 21 runs including two boundaries from winners Seven Star while Pranav and Abhishek contributed 18 and 10 runs respectively. Extras contributed maximum 56 runs. From Eleven Brothers Club, Munish bagged three wickets, followed by Rafiq, who took two. Sushil, Rahul and Sunny shared a piece each. Later, chasing a target of 157 runs, Eleven Brothers could not reached the required total and were bowled out for 141 runs in 29 overs. Vishal and Parveen played excellent innings of 30 (4x4) and 31 (3x4) runs respectively. Sahil and Adarsh were the most successful bowlers from Seven Star Club, who clinched three wickets each. Shorya bagged two and Shuja one. Deepu was later declared man of the match for his 21 runs innings and for being instrumental in taking three beautiful catches there. |
