PKM executive council discusses organizational, political issues
‘Sanklap Yatra to focus on several issues to commence from Nov’ , Chrungoo

The Panun Kashmir Movement (PKM) today organized a special two-day Executive Council meeting at Jammu to discuss various organizational and political issues concerning the community. Besides, the executive council members, special invitees and representatives from refugee camps of Kashmir Pandit community attended the meeting.
In the meeting it was decided to prepare an assessment and evaluation report in respect of the present situation of the refugee camps on the basis of the recent tour conducted in these camps by the PKM. The report shall be released during the current month. The meeting also finalized the schedule regarding the ensuing political pilgrimage- the Sanklap Yatra.- to be led by the President of the PKM, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo.
Giving details at a press conference about the program chalked out for the proposed Sankalp yatra, Chrungoo said the yatra shall start from Srinagar, Kashmir in November and will cover nine states and two union territories before concluding at Jammu in December. .
He said the focus of the yatra would be on four major points including Kashmir issue and terrorism, exodus and displacement of Kashmiri Pandits and other minorities of Kashmir and their present status, human rights situation of minorities in Jammu &Kashmir state and demand of Homeland in Kashmir.
Chungroo further said that Yatra shall comprise 4 stages i e Srinagar to Jammu, Gandhinagar, Jammu to Gandhinagar- Gujarat, Sabarmati Ahemdabad to Ravi, Pathankot via Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh and Lakhanpur to Rajinder Park, Jammu (On foot). This political pilgrimage named ‘Sankalp-Yatra’ shall visit the birth-places (Janamabhumi) and/or work-places (Karmabhumi) of various political personalities of India like Mahatma Gandhi-Sabarmati Ashram, Ahemdabad, Dr.B.R Ambhedkar-Nagpur, Dr. K.B. Hedgewar- Nagpur and Lokmanya B.G. Tilak Pune..
The Yatra shall also, during its course, visit Harmandir-Darbar Sahib, Amritsar, Durgiana, Amritsar, Akshardham, Ahemdabad and Hazoor Sahib, Nanded, Maharashtra.
Different modes of transport shall be used for different stages of the Sankalp-Yatra, he said..
The Kashmir Sikh Displaced Forum shall also take active part in this political pilgrimage throughout its course. The three month awareness campaign regarding the proposed yatra and issues involved would be launched shortly, he added.
B.L.Kaul, Patron Prof. H.L.Jalali, Vice President O. N. Pandita, Chairman, Political Affairs Committee and S. N. Dulloo, Chairman, Human Rights Committee were also present at the press conference.
