| ISO 9001-2000 for Jammu Airport | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 2 Airports Authority of India has achieved one more milestone by getting ISO 9001-2000 certificate for its local civil airport at Jammu, the first airport to obtain this ISO certification. A certificate award ceremony was held here today to commemorate this event. The ceremony was presided by the Dr. K. Ramalingam Chairman. Airport Authority of India. A. Murugeshan, Regional Executive Director, Norhern Region, AAI, Sudhanshu Pandey, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, B.R. Sharma, Chief Electoral Officer, S.P. Vaid, Inspector General of Police and Hridesh Kr. Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu were among others present at the function. Dr. K. Ramalingam awarded the ISO 9001-2000 certificate to G. Chandramouli, Airport Director, Jammu. Speaking on the occasion, K. Ramalingam, congratulated all officers and staff of civil Airport and expressed the hope that with the effective cooperation of state administration the Jammu airport would be further expanded and modernized once the land acquisition process is completed.. A number of private Airline companies like Jet Airways, Spice Jet, Sahara, Deccan are already providing services to the commuters and to new companies Kingfisher and Indigo will start their operations from Jammu Airport soon He said two aerobridges will be constructed, apart from extension of terminal building which will cater 400 passengers each for the departure and arrival. This Airport has achieved 85% customers satisfaction and has been graded as number one Airport in India in providing services and has been awarded ISO 9001-2000 certificate. |
