| Reasi gets first Public Park on Gandhi Jayanti | | | Early Times Reporter

To provide recreational facilities to residents, particularly the womenfolk, the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Jugal Kishore Sharma inaugurated Zanana Park quite in the heart of Reasi town last evening.
The District Development Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma, Director, Floriculture, Kulbushan Sharma, Addl. Deputy Commissioner, B.A.Saraf, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Bikram Singh Jamwal, Tehsildar Ashok Kumar Sharma, President, Municipal Committee, councilors, prominent citizens and large number of people were present on the occasion.
After inauguration, an impressive scintillating cultural programme was organized at Zanana Park where reputed artist Ramalo Ram and C.D. Makotra and party presented cultural programme based on developmental activities, small family norms, loan facilities by Industry department & banks and message of communal harmony and mutual brotherhood.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that a long pending demand of the local for Recreation Park has been fulfilled. He assured the audience that such more spots would be developed in the Reasi town and its peripheries in near future. Mr. Sharma said that a suitable place has been identified near Kalka Mata temple for developing the area as Recreation Park for the general public. The department of Floriculture has spent nearly 30 lakh for the development of this Zanana Park till date and is likely to spent some more money for construction of Mali shed, benches, public convince and installation of children playing equipments in the park.
The Director, Floriculture department, Jammu gave a detailed resume of the activities already taken up for the development of this park for the facility of locals at Reasi. He assured the Minister that all out efforts would be made for developing such more spots for recreation purposes in the Reasi district.
Earlier the Minister along with DDC and Director Floriculture visited the purposed spot near Kalka Mata temple which is active consideration of the administration for recreational park. The Minister asked the Director to make a plan of the purposed spot for further consideration. |
