Congress highlights problems of 'border dwellers' | | | Early Times Report
Vijaypur, Nov. 05: Congress unit Vijaypur held its monthly meeting under the leadership of Sr leader Arun Sharma in which party leaders deliberated upon the poor plight of border dwellers in wake of unprovoked firing and shelling from across the border by the Pakistan. The party workers of the Vijaypur Constituency from the entire polling booths participated in this meeting and raised the issues and problems being faced by border population due the unprovoked firing and shelling from Pakistan. During the meeting the Congress workers also alleged that present regime is acting like mute spectator to the plight of border people. The party workers also raised the issues of people of Kandi Belt especially the acute shortage of drinking water. Addressing Senior Worker Bishamber Singh Slathia said that the present coalition has failed in all respects. He said that the people of Kandi Area totally depended upon the employment as most of the people are landless and someone who have land are facing the drought for the past six month. He also raised the issue of hike in price of domestic goods as well as food stuffs. In his address party leader Arun Sharma said that Prime Minister Modi's recent surgical strike of currency though is claimed as a welcome step to contain the black money as well as fake currency but the common masses are put to face problems especially those who had withdrew huge amounts from banks for marriage purposes. Sharma assured the workers that the demands shall be put before the concerned authorities as well as party high command for their early redressal. He further said that only congress is a secular party and has a capacity to provide the stable government. |
