Jugal announces Rs.1.70 lakh for upgrading power supply of Thukal

The Minister for Rural Development, Jugal Kishore Sharma today announced Rs.1.70 lakh for upgradation of power supply in Thukal village of upper Muttal area out of Constituency Development Fund. He said that Rs.1.55 lakh would be spent for purchasing 28 electric poles with allied material and Rs.15,000 would be utilized for the replacement of electric wires to improve the power in the area .
Addressing public meetings at village Kaga and Kambal Danga in block Udhampur, the Minister reiterated the commitment of the government to provide equal opportunities of development to all the three regions of the state with thrust on accelerating the developmental activities in rural areas to raise the socio economic status of the people. He further said that the augmentation of Water Supply Scheme at village Seen Brahamana would be given top priority and Water Supply Scheme at village Dhanoo would also be completed at the earliest for the benefit of inhabitants.
For initiating various developmental projects in the area, the Minister asked the Block Development Officer, Udhampur to prepare comprehensive projects under Rural Development schemes for creating rural infrastructure in the area. He also said that work on 1.50 km. link road from Kaga to Dhanoo More is full swing.
To generate awareness of various central and state sponsored poverty alleviation schemes among ruralites, the Minister directed the Chief Agriculture Officer, Udhampur to organized awareness camps with special focus on Agriculture sector in collaboration with other departments for uplifting the economic status of the forming community in particular.
District President (Urban) Congress, Mr. Brij Mohan Sharma and Senior Congress leader of Udhampur, Mr. Shakeel Shah also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the achievements of collation government in the state.
On the occasion, locals putforth various demands which included construction of community hall at Muttal, upgradation of High School, repair of Hospital building at Chirai, repair and widening of Sandarani-jhajjar road, High school at Jangal-Gali, repair of road from Jib Morh to Muttal, opening of Allopathic Dispensary in between Rehamble- Thati road etc.
Among others the District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, O.P.Kalandria, President Municipality Katra Mulkh Raj Purohit, Assistant Commissioner, Development R.C.Puri, Chief Agriculture Officer, Mr. Kuldesh Sharma, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. B.B.Sharma, ARTO, K.K.Bhagat, Block Development Officer, Udhampur, B.L.Sharma, District Youth President (Congress) Shashi Manhas and other officers of different departments accompanied the Minister.
