Principal, staff and students of Government Polytechnic, Jammu celebrated the International Day of Non-Violence on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti yesterday in the auditorium of the institute. Ex-Principal Prof. O. J. Raina was the chief guest while the function was presided over by Principal Mr. K. R. Sharma
Meanwhile, all the officers and officials of the Directorate of Handloom Department also organized a function yesterday to celebrate International Non-Violence Day to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. They administered peace pledge and took oath to follow the path of truth and non-violence.
Director Handlooms Mrs. Nirmal Sharma while highlighting the relevance of Gandhian philosophy in today’s life advised to follow the path of truth and non-violence. She said stated that Handloom sector owes its origin to Gandhian philosophy and it becomes all the more important for the Handloom Department to observe and propagate the principles of Gandhian Philosophy. |
