| Extension lecture on wildlife management held | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | Oct 4 IIPA, J&K Regional Branch in association with department of Environmental Sciences, Kashmir University organized an extension lecture on “Management of Wildlife in J&K” in connection with celebration of Wildlife week, in the Conference Hall of department of Distance Education Kashmir University. Besides the IIPA office bearers, faculty of various departments of Kashmir University and students of Post Graduate classes of Kashmir University attended the lecture. Prof Ab Wahid Vice Chancellor, Kashmir University was the Chief Guest. In the Power Point Presentation, Sh A.K.Srivastava, IFS, Chief Wildlife Warden J&K dealt with the detail about the present status of Wild life preservation in J&K State and future plans formulated by the Govt. His lucid account of bio-diversity of State supported by facts & figures was appreciated by the audience. The Vice Chancellor in his remarks assured the Wildlife department all co-operation from the University in its plans to improve Wildlife Conservation in the State with particular reference to minimizing the man-animal conflict, instances of which are on rise in the State. Dr G. N. Qasba conducted the proceedings while Prof A.R. Yousuf HOD of Environmental Sciences presented vote of thanks. |
