Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 4 To include patriotic sprit among the people particularly to younger generation, ‘Adbi Kunj’, a multilingual literary organization organized a special function here the other day to remember the supreme sacrifice rendered by Bhagat Singh, whose birth centenary is being celebrated throughout the country. As per press release function was presided over by Dr. Taran Singh, President, Martyr, Bhagat Singh Foundation, Jammu. On this occasion, a well known personally in social circles of the State viz Sardar S.S. Bijral former IGP, Anand Lehar, an eminent Urdu writer and Muni Lal Puri, a known freedom fighter were present. At the outset, President Adbi Kunj Sham Talib in his welcome address paid glowing tributes to Martyr Bhagat Singh touching upon different aspects of his life. On this occasion general secretary, Adbi Kunj, Talib Kashmiri presented his latest Urdu short story titled ‘Hasrat’ depicting the deplorable condition of a family living below poverty line, despite 60 years of the Nation having achieved independence. Apart from this, R.K. Bharti apprised the participants about some usually hitherto unknown facts of Martyr Bhagat Singh’s life and crusade against tyranny including his association with Shiv Verma in the prison, who was ruthlessly killed by the oppressors. Muni Lal Puri gave a very emotional account of his association with freedom struggle before 1947, while Jaswant Singh, quoting an old editorial written by late, Lala Jagat Narayan, the then Chief editor, Hind Samachar, threw detailed light on the supreme sacrifice of their lives made by Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev. Besides rich tributes were also paid to Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi and ex Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, on their birth anniversaries. On the occasion poetic session, songs and Ghazals included S.S. Bijral, Anand Lehar, Munil Lal Puri, Talib Kashmiri, Suresh Rahi, Rajesh Bakhri, Chander Ved Prakash, Dr. Taran Singh, Raj Kumar Uttam, Rakesh Tript, P.L. Parihar, Tayyab Bharti, Santosh Nadan, Tahir Tayyab, Ghulam Farooq Karnahi, Altaf Khaliq (both on phone from Kupwara Kashmir), Jaswant Singh and Sham Talib. |
