Sahil’s unbeaten 94 guides HCC win

An unbeaten 94 runs innings studded with 12 boundaries and a hit over the fence by Sahil today guided Hardcore Cricket Club (HCC) to a five wickets easy win over Victory Cricket Club (VCC) in the ongoing Satish Sharma memorial under-19 cricket tournament at Parade ground, here.
Sahil, who fell short of just four runs to complete the first century of the tournament, faced mere 78 balls.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, VCC lost all their wickets for 168 runs in 24.5 overs of the 25 overs match. Karan Slathia was top scorer with 29 runs with the help of two fours while Anuj and Ishan contributed 27 and 29 runs respectively. Rahul Tak also played well and added valuable 27 runs facing mere 20 balls including two fours. From HCC, Ankit took three wickets and Abhishek Dogra bagged two. Sushant, Danish Chopra and Sawan shared a piece each.
In reply, HCC chased the total in 22 overs for the loss of five wickets. Sahil played match winning innings of unbeaten 94 runs while Saransh contributed 21 runs including three hits to the fence. From VCC, Sajan claimed two wickets while Ishan, Rahul Tak and Muteen shared one each.
Sahil was declared man of the match for his stunning innings of 94. Santa Singh and Pappu Dogra officiated the match.
Earlier, in the first match played in the morning session, Trikuta Cricket Club (TCC) trounced Young Star Cricket Club by 14 runs to sail into the next round.
Batting first, TCC lost all their wickets for 153 runs in 22.2 overs of the 25 overs match. In reply, Young Star could not chase the total and completed their allotted quota of 25 overs for 139 runs losing nine wickets.
Varun scored highest 45 (45 balls, 7x4) runs for the winners TCC and Vinu contributed 17-ball 27 hitting five boundaries. From Young Star, Arpan took three wickets, followed by Vishno and Gaurav who shared two each.
Later Young Star could not chase the total and exhausted their quota of 25 overs for 139 runs. Gaurav remained the top scorer with 25-ball 35 runs while Raman and Sachin added 13 and 14 runs respectively. Sumit was most successful bowler from TCC with three wickets for 27 runs.
Varun was adjudged man of the match for his 45 runs contribution for Trikuta Club.Next match: Khalsa Cricket Club V/s Young Tiger at 7.30 am; Seven Star-B V/s Star Cricket Club at 1 pm.
