| Three arrested with 18 bovines | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 4 Sidhra police today arrested three persons with 18 bovines while five persons managed to flee from the spot when they were smuggling the bovines from Jammu to Srinagar in two trucks. According to reports today police received specific information that some persons were smuggling the bovines in the area, a team from police post Sidhra laid a naka in the area and during checking stopped two trucks nearing numbers JK02W/9488 and JK02S/1659 and recovered 18 bovines from the spot. Reports said the police have seized both the vehicles and arrested three persons where five others traveling in these vehicles managed to escape. Those arrested have been identified as Mohd Shafi son of Chiragdin resident of Maraila, Mirza Mohd son of Nek Alam resident of RS Pura and Mohd Sharief son of Saim Mohd resident of Mirah Sahib. During interrogation they are reported to have told police that they were active in the smuggling since last few years. Police has also registered a case in this regard and started investigaton. |
