| Pandey distributes cheques to families of three drowned children | | | Early Times Reporter

Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sudhanshu Panday, who is on a tour to Ramban area, while chairing a meeting of officers to discuss the issues regarding the BHEP at Chanderkote, distributed cheques to NOKs of three children who had drowned at Marsoo on September 10 last while crossing the river Chenab in a boat.
The Divisional Commissioner handed over Rs.one lakh each to the NoK out of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.The Deputy Commissioner, Doda Saurabh Bhagat, had already paid Rs. 5000 each to the NOKs of deceased out of District Red Cross Society on the day of incident.
It is pertinent to mention here that Deputy Commissioner, Doda has already ordered a Magisterial enquiry into the whole episode so as to ascertain the cause/ circumstances which led to the death of three students.
The meeting at Chanderkote convened by Divisional Commissioner was also attended by Sandeep Naik Managing Director PDC, Saurabh Bhagat, Deputy Commissioner, Doda, A.D.Shanas Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Farooq Ahmed Khan, DIG of Police, SSP Ramban, Chief Engineer, PDC, BHEP, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Doda, Collector BHEP. A number of issues of concerning BHEP where discussed in the said meeting.
Earlier in the day the Divisional Commissioner visited Ramban and chaired meeting of Rural Development Department in which he reviewed the progress of various schemes of Rural Development including progress of NREGA. The meeting among others was also attended by DC Doda and other senior officers. |
