| Mahajan terms PDP’s first 3 yrs of governance as golden period | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 4 People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has come up to the expectation of the people and proven itself that it translated promises, made with the masses, into reality by way of restoring peace and equitable development of all the three regions of the state. This was stated by state Vice President of PDP and MLC Ved Mahajan, while addressing party meeting at Mathwar and Ranjan in Nagrota Assembly Constituency today. Terming the first three years of coalition Government under the Chief Minister ship of Mufti Mohd. Sayeed as golden period, Mahajan stated that steps initiated by the Mufti have led to restoration of peace along borders and peace process with the neighbouring country with simultaneous development of entire State including Jammu region, which had remained neglected since Independence of the country. PDP General Secretary and MLC Murtaza Khan, re-iterated party’s demand of gradual with-drawal of troops from the areas where their job has been accomplished and their re-deployment at places which are of vital importance. He said party was committed for balanced development of all the regions and sub-regions of Jammu and Kashmir in general and Jammu province in particular. Praising the leadership qualities of Mufti Mohd. Sayeed, Khan said party supremo during his Chief Minister- ship carried along all coalition partners in the Government and even made two Panther’s Party MLAs as Ministers. The party secretary Renu Azad, in her address, scoffed at those who consider PDP as militant’s party and asserted that the party is secular and believes in Gandhian Philosophy of non-violence, which was out to totally eliminate discrimination with any part of the state and stood for equitable development in the state. On this occasion, Sharaj Ahmed, son of Din Mohd. joined PDP who along with a large number of followers were welcomed in the party fold with a hope that they would prove an asset to the PDP. |
