| Stats department organizes fresher party | | | Early Times Reporter

Dotted by various colourful items, including singing of popular hits, group dances, skits and mimicry, a freshers’ day function was held by students of statistics of Jammu University here today. The function apparently revived the traditional charm of intro-parties.
Head off the Department Stats Prof JP Singh Joral was the chief guest while Prof Rahul Gupta and Pawan Kumar was the guest of honor on this occasion.
The freshers were summoned on the dice and asked to get them introduced with their seniors. Besides narrating their Curriculum Vitae (CV), the freshers also performed items of their choice ranging from couplets to mimicry. Titles of 'Miss Freshers', Mr. Fresher ' were also conferred during the function.
Manpreet Kour conferred the title of Miss Fresher; while Sandeep Singh bagged the title of Mr. Fresher
Later, JR Joral welcomed freshers and wished them all success with an assurance that the college would provide them best academic atmosphere. He also sought co-operation of students to maintain discipline and standards on the campus.
He further opined that such freshers parties help the students to familiarize with each other in a friendly way.
The statistics department also honored newly elected JURSEA president Vikas Sharma on this occasion. |
