| Employees to go on strike on Monday | | ‘Work paralyzed in treasuries’ | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 6 The functioning in all the four treasuries in Jammu remained paralyzed today following employees mass casual leave for the first half day to protest against the arbitrary decision of the Finance Department to absorb surplus staff of several PSUs into Accounts and Treasuries Department. The employees have decided to go on a day’s strike on Monday to press the government to withdraw its decision. The accounts employees assembled in large numbers in front of the office of Deputy Director Accounts and Treasuries at Shastri Nagar here today criticized the government move and raised anti- administration slogans. Addressing to protesting employees, Jasbir Singh, President of J&K Accounts Employees Association said that this ill conceived move of the department would deteriorate the career prospectus of the already aggrieved members of the cadre and held Director Accounts and Treasuries M I Khandey and S R Magotra, DDAT Jammu responsible for this ill conceived move. Alleging large scale corruption in the department on the name of the transfers, the speakers demanded a thorough probe into the working of the department. They have also urged upon employees to remain on day’s protest leave on Monday and assemble in old Secretariat Premises where a massive rally would be held and future course of action announced on the spot. The Association is also presenting a memorandum to the Divisional Commissioner on this day listing its objections against absorption of surplus PSUs staff in the Accounts and Treasuries Department, the Association handout said.. Those who addressed the employees included Rashpaul Singh Bandral, Adarsh Sharma, Subash Gupta, K S Pathaina, Bushan Anand and Kewal Kishore. |
