Charak suspends JE for allowing sub-standard material

Minister for Roads and Buildings Gulchain Singh Charak has directed the Chief Engineer R&B Kashmir to suspend the Junior Engineer and get explanation for Executive Engineer and Assistant Executive Engineer for allowing use of sub-standard material for black-topping on the two lanes of Bishamber Nagar Nowpora Srinagar. He also directed Chief Engineer to reject the black-toping of these two lanes. “No payment should be made for the said black-toping”, he added.
Charak today visited Srinagar city areas and took stock of works.
During the visit to Dargah Hazratbal, he directs the Chief Engineer to immediately improve roads leading to shrine within two days.
At Ganthal Harwan, Mr. Charak directed Managing Director JKPCC to complete Asian Development Bank funded Ganthal bridge over Muloori nallah by the end of December this year. The 18 feet steel bridge is being constructed at a cost of Rs. 77 lakh.
During his visit to Brain Nishat and Dara Harwan, Minister directed the concerned Executive Engineer to start upgradation work on the roads at Baba Ghulam Din Phaloo road and Khooto and Mir Mohalla Muzgam within week’s time. He also directed to repair the Nishat chowk road damaged by bursting of PHE line and also start the upgradation work of 1km long Mulnar link road from Newthead Harwan Dara within 20 days.
Minister was also accompanied by MLA Mrs. Khem Lata Wakhloo.
Various deputations of these areas also met the Minister and highlighted their problems. He assured them that instructions were given to engineers in front of you to start upgradation work on these roads at the earliest.
Charak also inspects the upgradation work of road from Zathiyar to Old Nishat road. He was informed that Rs. 2. 50 lakh was spent for restoration of LAWDA cut and Rs. 1.50 lakh for upgradation of the road. He also inspects the widening work of Syed Mirak Shah road.
Minister was accompanied by team of engineers and senior officers.
