NSUI seeks action against absentee teachers

National Students Union Of India District unit Doda has expressed deep shock and concern over the growing indiscipline and deteriorating condition in the education sector in the district.
The Union in a handout released to the press claimed that a 10-member team that visited various areas in Ramban, Kishtwar and Doda districts found majority of teachers absent from their schools so much so the head of the institutions were not present .
The team led by its district president Mohd Sajid Malik claimed that they visited at least dozen of the villages of the Doda district and also several schools During the visit to the . Government HSS Malanoo, the team found Principal along with twenty staff members absent from duty. The locals of the area informed the visiting team that most of the staff members including the Principal remain often absent from duty and later mark their attendance when they come to school for collection of pay dues. The absence of the teachers has adversely affected the students and if necessary action is not taken at the right earnest the career of 500 students of the school is threatened., the NSUI team said. The team also held CEO Doda wholly responsible for growing indiscipline in the educational institutions and demanded action against the erring teachers..
NSUI leaders, the hand out said. have also taken up this matter with the Director School Education Jammu and the Education Minister with a hope that stern action would be taken against the CEO Doda for failing in his duty to check the tendency of absenteeism of the teachers from the schools.
